Bike to Play

On Saturday I biked from southeast Bend to the Phil's trailhead for a sunny day of mountain biking in the Deschutes National Forest. Joggers were out enjoying the dirt paths that lined Skyliners road. On our way back into town I noticed a couple walking back into town from a backpacking trip. Being able to walk out of your front door and mountain bike, go camping, and trail run without stepping foot in a car is a sign of a livable city. Having your pick of seven breweries after a hard day of play is another good sign.
